Measurable Growth: Now and in the Future

The Computational Medicine Center has had a substantial economic impact on Ohio.  

  • In collaboration with it's partners and others the CMC has played an important role in creating at least 223 Ohio based jobs.  These jobs have an average salary of $62,000.*

  • Total dollars leveraged from other sources, $197 million*

  • Eleven patents pending*

  • Two companies created*

  • One company relocated to Ohio*

This economic impact also played a role in the extraordinary economic impact of our founding organization, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

  • The total annual economic impact of Cincinnati Children’s in fiscal year 2007 was $2.72 billion, an increase of 78 percent from $1.53 billion in fiscal year 2002. This is three times the overall growth rate of the local economy during the same five year period.**   

  • Included in the total economic impact is a household earnings impact of $1.16 billion in fiscal year 2007, a nearly 90 percent increase from $615.6 million in fiscal year 2002. **   

  • The total impact on employment in Greater Cincinnati is 24,381 jobs in fiscal year 2007, a 77 percent **
